Halsted’s roots trace back to 1902 as a family business with historic ties to the Halsted Brothers in Zimbabwe. On 29 April 1952, Halsted and Company Pty Ltd was formally established and its first branch opened in Welkom.
From those early beginnings, including our very first delivery vehicle, an old black thick wheel bicycle that is still proudly on display in Welkom, the company steadily expanded. A second branch opened in Bloemfontein twenty years later, laying the foundation for national growth.
Today, Halsted has grown into a national presence with 17 branches from the Western Cape to Limpopo, with a clear vision to continue expanding across South Africa.
